Presets & Projects

MNodes uses a flexible preset system for saving, organizing, and sharing your work.

Preset Files

Saving Presets

  1. File → Save Preset or Ctrl/Cmd + S
  2. Enter a name
  3. Choose a category and add optional tags
  4. Set author name (configurable in Settings)
  5. The preset is saved to your User presets folder

Preset Metadata

Each preset stores:

  • Name and Author
  • Category (Bass, Lead, Pad, etc.)
  • Description and Tags
  • Creation / Modification timestamps
  • Plugin version
  • Preferred open mode (Edit or Perform)

Preset Categories

Bass, Pad, Lead, Keys, Pluck, Strings, Brass, Organ, Bell, Drone, Arp, Sequence, Delay, Reverb, Chorus, Distortion, Filter, Compressor, EQ, Modulation, Sampler, Drum, Vocal, MIDI, Ambient, Noise, Experimental, Template

Loading Presets

  1. Open the Preset Browser from the toolbar or Explorer panel
  2. Browse by category or search by name
  3. Click a preset to load it

Browser Features

  • Category filter:Show only presets in a category
  • Search:Filter by name
  • Favorites:Star presets for quick access
  • Sort:Alphabetical, newest first, or oldest first
  • Row height:Adjustable list density

Preset Storage Locations

These paths can be overridden in Settings.

Import & Export

  • Import: Load .mnprt or .mnprtz files from any location
  • Export: Save presets or bundles to share with others

Preset bundles (.mnprtz) include all referenced external files (samples, images), making them fully portable.

MNodesHub

Browse and download community presets from MNodesHub. The Hub panel inside MNodes shows recent hub projects and lets you explore available content.

Recent Presets

MNodes tracks your recently opened presets. Access them from:

  • The Home Panel on startup
  • The File menu

Dirty State

When you modify a preset, MNodes tracks the changes. An indicator shows when the current state differs from the saved version, prompting you to save.
